Public speaking may come natural to some people and it may scare other people. The thought of looking into a large crowd and knowing that they are all looking at you and listening to you can be nerve wrecking. If you just learn how to get over the fear of public speaking you could be the best public speaker ever. You just have to know what you are doing and know how to present yourself in a confident way. As for me, I am not very confident when I am getting ready to present a speech.

When taking the Personal Report of Public Speaking Anxiety I got the score of 97. The score of 97 is in the middle it means that I get moderate anxiety in most public speaking situations and that the anxiety will not be so severe that I could not be a successful speaker. I am in agreement with the book. I do get nervous when I have to do a speech. Sometimes I wish I could just hide behind something, but you can always get over that. The thought of a speech doesn’t make me nervous. What make me nervous is the thought of the topic you have to present on. Like the impromptu speech does not sound bad at all. I could have a lot of fun with it. The speech that makes me nervous would be the demonstration speech. I am not really sure of what to do when I get to that speech. I don’t really have any hobbies that I like to do, but that’s mostly because I am always at work or school and do not have time. I know I do have a hobby for the demonstration speech, but I will have to think about it. As for public speaking again, I do get nervous when I am in front of people. Sometimes my hands will shake a tiny bit and I am afraid that I will mess up what I am going to say because I didn’t prepare good enough. I always try to do my best on a speech even if I am nervous.

As I said, public speaking can make me or anyone else nervous, unless you are prone to it. Public speaking can be easy or hard, but start off with a small group of people to talk to that will help get over your fear....
