Airbus tackles World pilot shortage. (2015, Nov 2). AirGuide Business .

In the Asia Pacific region alone there are estimates that there will be a need of 160,000 pilots in the next ten years. Airbus is setting up a pilot school in Singapore to help train the needed pilots in the region for the next decade. Joint ventures are being forged to help with the above average growth for the region.

Costs of brand new aircraft in the training category are topping over $400,000. This has led to some companies to do proof of concept refurbishments of older aircraft to almost new condition. This would allow flying clubs and possibly some flight training schools to operate at a lower cost. There is some doubt of this, and the article is a cost analysis on feasibility of this proof of concept.

This is a congressional inquiry on the lack of a cap in paying for vocational skills in VA benefits. There have been instances of for-profit contracted flight schools charging very inflated rates for VA benefactors. This would reduce the ability for the U.S. government to continue to support veterans from attaining vocational training in aviation.
