What is the relationship between the internet and academic achievements at Knox Community College
Background
In an article on the website www.warriorlibrarian.com entitled “The relationship between school libraries and achievement” suggested that many classroom teachers have noted that the quality of information has decreased with an increase in access to the internet (Credaro 2002). Statistic shows that there are over 150 million publicly accessible websites and a marginal 6% of these have educational contents.
Purpose of Study
This study seeks ascertain what extent does the internet have upon students’ academic achievement at Knox Community College. It also determines if there is any substance to the statement “quality of information has decrease with an increase in access to the internet”. It will also measure and demonstrate the degree in which or how vital the internet is to this particular tertiary institution.
Research Problem Statement
Over the years, despite the introduction of internet within the educational sector of tertiary institutions, Kubey, Lavin and Barrows (2001) recent research at colleges and universities has suggested that some college students’ academic performance might be impaired by heavier use of the Internet.

Significance of Study
The researcher believes that administrators at Knox Community College or the public on a whole will be benefited from the findings of this study since it provides a logical conclusion between internet access and student academic performance at the above mention institution. This experimental study also seeks to prove without doubt if the internet has contributed momentously to students who utilized it on a weekly basis for any school related projects.
