WEEK 2 | * Brief explanation of the Organisational Structure of TelOne along with its various departments and stations by the senior IT Manager. * Introductions to IT department members. * Assigned to the team dealing with the manage engine (service desk) which is a fault-reporting and management system. * Familiarizing myself with the Help Desk structures. | * I was able to picture the business organisational structures that we learnt in college in real life business situation. * I think the IT department must have separate personnel responsible for orienting new interns. * Video and oral tutorials should be available for access to new interns before they are given work to do. |

WEEK 3 | * Logging reported faults to the manage engine. * Resetting internal users lost or forgotten domain passwords. * Photocopying and filing received orders. * Resetting users’ outlook accounts passwords. * Helped in preparing departmental budgets. | * When logging in faults, the system auto generates the technician for such a job. There must be a mechanism put in place such that unavailable technicians (on leave or another job) are not selected. * Also internal users must be provided adequate information on password safe keeping to avoid unnecessary inconveniences related to forgotten passwords. * I learnt that record keeping is very important for future references. * As such all orders were photocopied and filed with much care and seriousness. * Budget preparation is very...
