Introduction

This report is divided into three phrases. Phrase one will have the overview of the Johnson Care Company and briefly described the recruitment and selection process, follow by the evaluating (KSAOs). Phrase two it will analysis on the types of selection methods that will be used for this Administrative Assistant role and justify the chosen methods. Lastly, phrase three will be the conclusion on why these methods have been selected in order to help Johnson Care Company to hire the right candidate for this Administrative Assistant role.

Phrase one

Recruitment and selection plays a very important role in human resources. Selecting the right candidate to fit into the role requirement and company culture are crucial important. “Management now is aware of the importance of employees, hence using the correct recruitment and selection methods are crucial part of management functions.” (Armstrong, M. 2009). Hiring the right candidate can helps to reduce the company turnover rate.

Johnson’s business is providing personal care materials in both public and private care market. Johnsons Care Company is recruiting a Administrative Assistant. This position requires working closely with warehouse team and having to backup service team in times of heavy workload. Referring to Appendix 1 which are the candidate KSAOs that required by Johnson Care Company. KSAOs referring to Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes and O for other characteristics. Before hiring the candidate there are a few steps of administrative works has to be prepared. The company will need to identify the needs of the role, drafting of the job description which needs to align with the company culture, posting of the advertisement, establish selection panel and determine selection methodology, short listing of candidates, assess candidates, recommend outcome, verbal offer, written offer and last but not least commence date.
