Nowadays there are many ways to advertise, for example, posters, commercials, magazines and leaflets and thanks to the innovation of technology there are more and more ways to promote products and brands.

One of the marketing new tools are Quick Response codes (QR codes), these little black and white squares 2D bar codes.

These codes can contain websites, tests, pictures and phone numbers and they can be read from every smart phone provided of an opposite program. They are really popular in other countries like Japan, they recently became popular in United States and they will probably become worldwide known in a few years.

QR code was invented in 1994 to track the vehicle manufacturing, but with the developing of smart phones today they can be used for marketing purposes.

As is written in the article I chose to analyse, Quick Response Codes are very common on cereal boxes to make the package more enjoyable. It is assumed that people have their mobile phones with them when eating so they can scan the black and white square and watch some videos.
