The Thing

What one thing could a person do each day until they die? This thing can be the most expensive but also can be the least expensive thing to acquire. What is it that brings the most joy and pain but yet we hardly ever think about it? The answer to this riddle definitely brought about a challenge.

If I were to describe or define just one thing that answered these questions it would have to be my own originality. I am original. There are no other copies of me. I share genetics, traits and personalities of my parents but I am an individual. Each day that I take a breath, I constantly shape and mold individual characteristics that further identify my own originality.

In developing my originality, the first experiences of failure, harassment or intimidation were no doubt a source of pain both physically and mentally. Yes, there were encounters or events where I gave blood, sweat and tears only to learn that I did not make the team, was passed over for promotion or simply missed out on what I perceived was the golden opportunity. As I aged, this constant shaping and molding of my characteristics allowed me to gain experience and skills needed in originality manufacturing. With this knowledge I was able to understand that those little letdowns along the way were simply nothing more than life lessons and if applied appropriately create success and well-being.

My originality is priceless. It can be compared and critiqued to others but the value can never be set with monetary terms. If there were a price tag, the value would be life and experience would be the only form of payment accepted as being legally tender. Although my originality is very costly it does, however, offer a free lifetime trial. Only I can determine my level of success and happiness in my use of this lifetime trial.
