Each video highlights different aspects of public health efforts to address the threat of infectious diseases. Please note in what ways the public health approaches provide protection and in what ways other issues may arise when these methods are applied.

* Liberia, West Africa

1. Guinea, West Africa: Meliandou Village

a. Big tree with lots of bats

b. They killed the bat bc making mad noise

c. Bats: carry deadly virus

d. They killed the bats and then ate them

e. Thought it was witchcraft

f. Guys son got sick

i. Diarrhea and stop eating then he died

ii. Sister died 9 days later

iii. Wife had a miscarriage and died

iv. Father went crazy “the village has killed me”
