Executive summary

The aim of this report is to evaluate the case study in strategy direction, implementation and management perspectives. In order to find out the famous company Adnams’ s competitive strategies and key issues in the development, the first part is analysing British consumer’s volatile attitudes to the alcohol and drinking habits, including the competitors and government regulations which are the main factors affecting the development of the company. Additionally, part two will use Porter’s Three Generic and Ansoff Matrix models to illustrate the problem critically. Meanwhile, the last part is providing recommendations of the company’s future depend on the former analysis.

This assignment aims to identify key strategic issues related with Adnams within the provided case study. Nowadays, the development of the middle and small-sized enterprises is a hot spot in the society. With the rapid development of economy, the competition between enterprises is more and more big. The company have to change their operational strategies to keep their own competitive advantages. Adnams is a well-known UK company that the business is focus on brewery primarily in Suffolk, UK. The company also has ownership of hotels and pubs in the Suffolk and Norfolk area (Adnams, 2016).
