Good day lecturer,
I am pleased to present my first assignment of COM3705 to you. I have
covered all the sections (1-3) completely. Section 1 consists of the role of
social media on political revolutions and also the information society. Section
2 consists of international marketing, media imperialism and global
advertising. Lastly, section 3 consists of culture shock and the role
immigration in international communication.

1.1 This essay will critically discuss the crucial role social media networks
have played in facilitating major political revolutions in the world, namely, The
Arab Spring (Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain and Libya).
In 2011, there was political unrest in the Middle East. The rise of social media
in political revolutions began in Tunisia when a man disgruntled with the
current political events and circumstances had set himself on fire, this
breaking news quickly spread to Egypt, Bahrain and Libya just to name afew
countries. The video of the man who set himself on fire soon went viral, and it
