The information in the course has been very beneficial to me in aiding me to become a stronger candidate in the business world. Through the topics and key concepts covered through out the term I have become a more qualified individual in not only Operations Management, but in the business world as well. Some of those topics would be: Product and Service Design, Human Resources, and Supply Chain Management. Having knowledge in these areas will allow me to e successful in my future studies, in jobs, and owning my own business.

Product and Service Design are part of the driving factors behind a company’s success. It is important to understand this process because it defines a company’s customers and competitors. To keep an organization in existence new products and services must be created. These new designs must give the organization a competitive edge, satisfied customers, while still being affordable to manufacture, use, and repair. Product and Service Design is the face of the company and how good the design is determines the success of that company.

Human Resources are an important role in any organization. As it has evolved so has the business world. Today, for a business to be successful it s important that it recognizes its employees and the important role they serve to make that business successful. Human Resources encompass a broad range of responsibilities that include employee motivation, job training, job enrichment, and empowering is just naming a few. Having the knowledge in this area will help me not only as an employer, but as an employee as well. I now have the tools to recognize the efforts of Human Resources and am better equipped to understand the role they play in my daily work. I can also use those same tools to apply those efforts to my own employees when I am in a position that will allow me to do that.
