Living in a foreign country five thousand miles away from home isn’t that easy. We face a lot of hurdles on the way, I believe that’s life. I studied in an English medium school hence didn’t face a lot of problems with communication. My problems were, getting adapted to the culture and I found it really challenging to socialise which often made me overthink. To be honest I chose the intercultural communication because it was the only advantage module that was left, which was quite easy.

In my first class we spoke about sending emails. In the absolute beginning of my course I was worried to send an email to my lecturer like I said before I was overthinking I read a few emails formats online and took about roughly 35 mins to send a simple mail this happen every time I sent a mail. After I attended the class on how to send a good email it helped me be more confident and relaxed mailing the lecturer. It was extremely helpful and made me realise that my decision was right.

I am a reserved guy who only talks when needed too. It was not helping me at all, the people here(UK) are very open and speak a lot. So I decided to be a bit more outgoing and talk to people even though they were a few awkward conversations. I really liked the idea of the group project we had to work in diverse cultural group. We were told to find a group our self, provided they aren’t from our course or country which made it more challenging. I finally found group of great people really loved working with them. We shared our contacts and were stayed connected through social media. We met in the university library and discussed on how to provide a successful presentation. This method of working in groups helped me gain experience of working in teams.

Like I told before we stayed connected through social media but we used a rather unorthodox method to communicate. People usually communicate through Facebook or WhatsApp but we chose those stay connected through Instagram. We made plans to meet...
