Character 1: Jeff – Jeff is a blue-collar worker who in his free time likes to work on cars.

Character 2: Fred – Fred is drives a Jeep and has little knowledge on how to fix it when something goes wrong, and since it is a Jeep, something always goes wrong.

The scene takes place in a parking lot with Jeff and Fred hanging out with a parking lot late one night with a bunch of their friends. While trying to figure out what to do and just talking with everyone. Once they decide to leave, Jeff and Fred head over to Fred’s Jeep to leave.

Jeff: The Jeep isn’t working again. What else is new?

Fred: What could be wrong with it?

Jeff: I thought we just fixed it. Has it been having problems lately?

Fred: I have no idea. I mean no more than normal. I thought it was finally fixed but nope. Now it just won’t start again.

Jeff: I mean everything on it is new, well almost everything.

Fred: I’m well aware. What else is left?

Jeff: I mean it’s not turning over at all, but it cranks so that’s good at least.

Fred: Make it work.

Jeff: Get a new car already.

Fred: but Jeep. Just make it work.

Jeff: Working on it.

*Jeff opens hood*

Fred: AND?

Jeff: I just opened it. Go start it and let me see what it does.

*Fred tries to start Jeep*

Fred: Anything?

Jeff: Does it sound like it started?

Fred: No. Should I try again?

Jeff: No no.

*Jeff adjusts some things*

Jeff: try it now

*Fred tries to turn on car*

Fred: It started….

Jeff: Yes, but you need a new fuel pump, or you ran out of gas, most likely a new fuel pump. We’ll have to get one and then we can replace it.
