Broadcast television

Television had replaced radio after the World War 2. It had become very popular. There are two men who developed television Philo Farnsworth and Vladimir Zworykin. In the 1960s, the number of TV stations increased and almost 95 of Americans owned at least one TV. In 1970s, television had a big impact on society. In the early TV, three networks was dominating, NBC, CBS and ABC. In addition, in 1980 and 1980, the NBC, CBS and ABC lost audiences. More important, the Fox network becomes big competitor.

On 1996, the telecommunication had a big effect on TV station ownership.

Analog TV broadcasting switched to digital broadcasting.

TV is becoming popular and very interesting. We can find it in every house. It is expensive, dominant and universal. There are many departments on producing television programs. The first on is sales; it is the one who is responsible of selling time and scheduling ads. The second one is engineering everything has relationship with technical equipment. The third one is production. The forth one is news and the last one is administration.

The TV industry contains suppliers, distributors and local stations.

The ratings for network programs and local stations are determined on network ratings and local-market TV ratings. Public broadcasting relies on private sources of funding and not on tax revenues.

During summer, Americans watch TV les than on winter because people on summer spend time on enjoying the weather with their friends. In contrast, on the winter, there is rain and snow, so they prefer staying at home and turning TV on and watching movies. 8 hours per day, an American can watch TV. Also, we can say that teenagers watch less TV than old people. More than that, educated people also watch less TV, they prefer...
