Love is viewed in different point of views, some happy and others sad, In the poems “She Was A Phantom of Delight” and “The Clod and The Pebble” love is portrayed in different ways where the characters in the poems expressed love. Love is a good thing but it could change based on their experiences. Through tone and word choices both poets was able to portray love in different ways.

Love is something you can feel in relationships and it can either be good or bad. The poem “She Was A Phantom of Delight” was about Wordsworth’s wife and his love for her. Wordsworth’s feeling toward her thoughout the poem didn’t change. It seemed as if the rough times didn’t change his feelings for her. He still loved her the same even when they had problems in their marriage. When she died he still felt the same. “A perfect Woman; nobly planned, To warn, to comfort, and command; And yet a Spirit still, and bright With something of an angel light.” (Wordsworth 27-30) showed that even though she died she still had that same love effect. The overall poem showed his love for her. This love is something that everyone wishes to have. Through everything nothing changed. That was totally different from the poem “Song”. It was a negative take on love. The overall poem was about a man’s love but the aspect of that love wasn’t what you expected it to be. “Song” was about being heartbroken by the one person you loved. It was that side effect of being hurt and lied to by a man. “Let him gain the hand, he’ll leave you, And still glory to deceive you.” (Wroth 11-12) goes on to tell about how if you let him capture your heart he’ll leave you and that would hurt you. He would will from your pain but there will be a time to let him go and be free from the grasp he has on you. Love can hurt you or help you. It just depends on what happened.

Love is portrayed in many different ways. In “Song” you can feel the hurt and pain Wroth said. It was the way a girl felt after being hurt by the man she loved. He...
