First, online retail can make the marketplaces take a cut for the company. Everyone knows if listing the product on the third website will made the profit lower for the seller. The seller need to pay the fee to the third platform such as eBay of Amazon. For example, books’ selling price are cheap in China, so the profit are lower than it sold in retail shops. The company will get less money if they sell the books online that compare with the books sold in retail shops. The online price would even be lower than that in the shops, it shows the seller will gain less profit from one product online.

Second, there has more competition among the industry. As people all know, there are more and more online shops have established in recent years. Edwards (2012) did a research said people always choose the cheaper price product to purchase since books are the FMCG. The company needs to compare the price with others and to strive to give more customers. It always mentions the holder to maximize their profits. In that case, more and more competition will be occurred. Different company will take different measures to snatch the customers.

Third, online shopping will let people to wait for a long time to the items compare with the retail shops. When people place an order, they need to wait a few days for the items to arrive. Most experts (2009) said people feel excited after they buy the product. A few days later, when the items arrive, the feeling will decrease.
