The organization I decided to address was my previous employer T-Mobile Inc. The organization is one of the few companies that I have worked for that has really stuck to their mission statement. The company relies drastically on its employees for its success and its growth. We will look into depth in regards to the organizations mission statement, creation of values and the roles of ethics and social responsibility in their strategic planning.

The strategic management process analyzes the major initiatives, involving resources and performance in external environments, which a company's top management takes on behalf of owners ("Strategic Management", 2013). This is very important in the realm of telecommunications. This industry is constantly changing and external environments can change the face of a company overnight. The mission statement of T-Mobile is “to help customers build richer relationships and networks with the people and things that matter to them most ("T-Mobile Mission Statement", 2015). The internal Mission Statement from the Albuquerque New Mexico corporate office is “to treat its employees and customers exactly the same and never let a customer hang up without a resolution”. Both statement is what the company has used in the last 5 years to rebound itself from what was almost a buyout from AT&T.

The motivation strategies the company used were like no other I have ever experienced. The CEO John Ledger would come to all 24 call centers once a month to take part in the town hall meetings. He would want to hear what the employees concerns and input ideas were and how to implement them. The organization used extrinsic motivation to compensate and recognize employees for consistent behavior and achievement.
