While Eisenhower was president, he followed a fairly strict social and economic
Conservatism.
He made deficits to the defense budget after the Korean War. He then proceeded to make
increases in Social Security. He is most widely known during his administration for the
Interstate highway system which proved to be one of the largest public works projects ever noted
in the history of America. He also worked diligently to avoid the use of nuclear weapons and
cautioned the country that their use termed “the military-industrial complex,” all the time he
thought it was aiding and abetting the arms race that was ongoing between the U.S. and the
Soviet Union. Of the three years out of eight that President Eisenhower was in office, he
achieved a
