Emily was walking home from work along the river Thames. She was tired and lonely. She had come from a long and tiring day at work. It was a cold but clear evening and no-one was about the river.

She saw a pair of lovely, elegant swans swim along the riverside and so she decided to sit on a nearby rock and watch them swim side by side down the river. As she watched them fade into the distance she fell asleep.

Night had fallen by the time Emily woke up and the temperature dropped, so she decided to take out her gloves and put them on. It was so dark she could barely see a thing, so she took out her phone and used her flashlight application to see. She hopped off the rock and as she was walking, she stood on something. It was a pile of soil but she could feel something hard underneath. She never noticed this mound earlier. Using her torch she checked out the pile and saw a black “L” shaped figure. It was a gun!

Since she was already wearing gloves she carefully picked it up and inspected it. She found a small splodge of red blood on the handle! She thought to herself “Did someone get killed a few hour ago? Locally?”

She quickly dialled 911 but her phone needed credit, so she hid the gun under her arm making sure no one would see it, and rushed to the local police station.

When Emily arrived at the police station she told the policeman behind the desk that she found this gun buried under some earth by the river bank. He quickly jumped up and called some other colleagues, who were to accompany Emily to the site of her grave discovery.

As they hurried down the street, they finally reached the area where Emily identified the location of her find. They inspected it and also checked the ground in close proximity to it.

One of them found some footprints leading from the pile into the water. They inspected further but unfortunately, found no more clues. Emily was exhausted at this stage, mentally and physically but was allowed to return home. It was...
