Device Friendliness:

The reality of modern web design is that there are now many different devices that people use as portals to access the internet. Device friendliness is the measure of how well a website is designed to accommodate mobile, tablet, and desktop internet browsers simultaneously. The viewport of this website is a poor example of responsive design because it does not facilitate the browsing process on all three devices.

The mobile viewport is perhaps the best-designed of the three, although it too could benefit from some reorganization to better reflect the company's priorities for the page. This viewport enables a user to use simple scrolling to access the entire web page, despite the narrow browsing window, and users will have no trouble accessing the entire article. However, mobile users will not be able to see the entire headline of the article at the top of the page and will instead see half the article title. This decreases the aesthetic value of the first glance of the article with which users will be presented. Simply amending this problem by moving the company logo down and to the left of the links and reducing the font size of the article's title would increase the device friendliness of the mobile portion of the website.

The tablet and desktop viewports have a different problem which will frustrate browsers who seek to read this article because they are also poor examples of responsive design. Instead of being able to simply scroll up or down to access the whole webpage, users will have to scroll left to right to read each line of the article. This means repeatedly scrolling left to right each time a user finishes reading a line. In addition to being an inconvenience to users accessing the page from tablets or desktop computers, this design flaw could also raise complaints from advertisers whose ads will often not be visible to browsers.
