1. Who I am. I will spend time telling them about how I grew up on three different continents to give them better perspective on what makes me tick, as well as open up as a person to them. This will also include me sharing the latest about my family, my four kids and beautiful wife, so they know that I understand how important family and personal lives are to us all.
2. Marketing approach. In order for them to feel confident about how I approach the broad function of marketing, I will review with them how I view the main functions and responsibilities within marketing: product marketing, demand generation, marcom, and analytics.
3. Decision making. I want them to understand how I look at situations to make decision and prioritization. That I score things along the lines of ‘likelihood to succeed’, ‘impact on the business’. Also that I have a bias for ‘taking big swings, and like to focus on ‘fewer things done better’.
4. My expectations. In order for them to feel more comfortable in knowing what I expect of them, I will share with them what I expect of them.
1. Integrity & Teamwork
2. Leadership & Action-oriented
3. Demand Excellence of yourself and each other
4. Measure Results
5. Grow professionally & personally
5. Personal motto. Lastly I will come back to a very personal tone and share my personal motto with them “Stand a little taller, be a little kinder.” This will allow me to emphasize my passion for the team and underscore the importance of the personal relationships among the team members.
I am excited about my new adventure, especially about creating new relationships.
