INTRODUCTION

The objective of this report is to critically evaluate Henry Foote and Co. Pty Ltd (HFT)s current information system to understand the requirement for employing new Management Information System (MIS) and the consequences, the management HFT will face due to the new implementation of high tech MIS to fit to the purpose of HFT. HFT is a company that was experiencing significant levels of growth in its business. However, its existing operational practices and MIS were incompetent in perform and sustain their level of progress. To meet organization’s long term and short-term goals and to survive in the industry facing the endless competition by their rivals.

Evaluation of existing information system (RUN250)

As a classic and trendy shoe business, we need to cater our customer needs as faster as we can to survive in the industry. As we fast growing business model comprise with tactical, strategic and operational layers with link to suppliers, customers, human resources, government and other stakeholders, we need to have a sound system in place in terms of meeting all of the stakeholders need under one roof.

At present we are having not much improved and advanced technology in terms of meeting our requirement. Our manufacturing and trading process consist of purchase of raw material, inventory and supply chain management, production, Shipping finished goods to stores/show rooms, quality management and control, back office support, trading activities such as point of sales and much more requirement to be cater to suit HFT needs.

With the present system RUN 250 is catering only to manage an inventory of machine parts and materials used by workers and technicians on the factory floor also automatically ensures that flagging supplies are constantly replenished in each factory without delay but even with the minimum...
