Introduction

This paper evaluates the coaching model and team-based performance of an organization. Moreover, this paper describes the selected organization’s approach of coaching for their employees to optimize the organization’s performance management activities. For this paper, selects Wal-Mart as an organization that is an American multinational retail company. This paper also recommends practices or approaches of coaching to improve Wal-Mart’s current performance. At the same time, this paper constructs five best practices through aligns the organization’s overall goals and vision that would maximize team-based performance in the Wal-Mart.

Background Information & Profile and Current Position of Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart was initiated by Sam Walton in 1962. It an American multinational retail company that sprints chains of large discount department stores as well as warehouse stores in around 27 countries. Along with this, Wal-Mart assists persons round the world save money & live better, anytime and anyplace in retail shops, online and through their wireless devices. Furthermore, the enterprise runs its enterprise through e-commerce websites in 10 countries and in every week round 245 million customers visit its 11,000 retails stores under 69 banners in the worldwide.

Apart from this, according to the Fortune Global 500 list in 2013, Wal-Mart is the world's second biggest public corporation and the largest private employer in the world. It has approximately two million employees and also the largest retailer in the world. The revenues of the company were US$ 469.162 billion as per the financial report of 2013 (Wal-Mart. 2015). Hence, Wal-Mart is the biggest retail company in the world.
