Academic Writing for Connecting
Writing is an art that allows everyone expresses themselves through it. It also showcases someone’s knowledge. It has to be properly done to send the message to the reader and the reader to understand it well. It has to be cohesive and must expand the thoughts to make it more interesting and send its message directly. Editorials, Journals, Articles, Essays and Researches are example of writings that showcase someone’s knowledge and skills that makes them and Academic Writing.
Academic Writing is reflective for both the writer and the reader. The thoughts of the writer are expressed through the writing which makes the reader response and relate to the writer. The different kinds of writing must be purposeful: it can inform, entertain or to persuade. Reports, research papers, and articles are examples of informative writings. Comics and magazines are examples of writings that can entertain but magazines can be also informative or persuasive as well as the advertisements. Writing is also procedural such as manuals, guidebooks, and cooks books. Writing is also structural, it must have an introduction, body and the conclusion.
For the writer to be able to come up with an Academic writing, the writer must follow the stages of writing. The first stage is pre-writing; this is when the writer gathers information, ideas and concept of what it will write. The second stage of writing is drafting, the writer arranges its ideas and concepts interrelated to one another to make the thought directly delivered to the reader. Revising is the third stage of writing. In the third stage, the writer checks and arranges the flow of its composition and the writer will widen its thought and this where editing will follow. The next stage of writing is editing. The writer makes sure that there are no errors and everything is perfectly done to communicate with the reader. The last stage is publishing.
