CHAPTER I: INTRODUCTION

The Blind Side is a non-fiction American film depicting the life of Michael Oher. It is semi-biographical sports drama film. It was produced by Alcon Entertainment and released by Warner Bros. The films budget was $29 million; the film to date has grossed more than $250 million domestically. The movie features 23 songs by artists including Les Paul, Young MC, Lucy Woodward, The Books, Canned Heat, Five for Fighting, and the film's co-star Tim McGraw. However, while the score soundtrack by Carter Burwell was released on CD, none of the featured songs were included.

B. About the director (Trench Beavan Tan)

John Lee Hancock, an American screenwriter, film director and producer. He secured an Oscar nomination—and helped Sandra Bullock, the leading actress, actually win one—by telling the inspirational story of Michael Oher, a homeless youth turned Baltimore Ravens (and now Tennessee Titans) offensive tackle. The director’s life-changing movie affects everyone on how to become a champion through surpassing man struggles in life. John Lee Hancock’s technique of the story is somewhat like a rollercoaster with its twist and turns to make the viewers predict, cry, and die in anger. It might strike some viewers as a little too pat as the director picked the actress Sandra Bullock portraying as Leigh, and did a great impact in acting and won an award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role and indeed John Lee’s greatest achievements in 2010, he is so ecstatic to know that his casts were the strong source material and the backbone of the story “The Blind Side”.
