TITLE: VERIATION OF THE GATES
OBJECTIVE:
* Proof that the given IC’s in accordance to the Boolean function of the gates by using the logic probe and the digital multimeter.
* Proof the function as per given.
Introduction:
ICs have become the principal components of almost all electronic devices. These miniature circuits have efficient properties such as low cost, high reliability, low power requirements, and high processing speeds. Integrated circuit microcomputers are now used as controllers in equipment such as machine tools, vehicle operating systems, and other applications .IC microcomputers are smaller and more versatile than previous control mechanisms, they allow the equipment to respond to a wider range of input and produce a wider range of output.2 The 7400 series of transistor-transistor logic (TTL) integrated circuit logic contains hundreds of devices that provide everything from basic logic gates, flip-flops, and counters, to special purpose bus transceivers and Arithmetic Logic Units1.The 74LS (Low-power Schottky) family uses TTL (Transistor-Transistor Logic) circuitry, which is fast but requires more power. Therefore the supply voltage of 5V is applied to each IC. The inputs float high to logic 1 if unconnected but the outputs can sink up to 16mA but can source only about 2mA. The IC is constructed by carefully assembling the microscopic electronic components (transistors, diodes, capacitors, and resistors) and their interconnections fabricated as a single unit on a wafer of semiconducting material, especially silicon. The fabrication of integrated...
