Abstract

Optimum performance in academics requires that students adopt a health conscious lifestyle, which in turn will lead to a productive and proficient collegiate life. An insightful learner is a student who subscribes to a system, which includes, active mental development. Attention is key to cerebral functioning. Memory actually depends on several cognitive processes, including encoding, storage, and retrieval. Research shows that when a problem arises with whatever task we’re currently focused on we become vulnerable to cognitive tunneling - forgetting to switch our attention back to the other tasks at hand. Failures of memory occurs when we form an intention to do something later, become engaged with various other tasks, and lose focus on the thing we originally intended to do. Students who neglect their health and or are inattentive to mental wellbeing are those who face intellectual decline. And scholars are students who frequently utilize specific study techniques such as memory devices, exam strategies and elite study habits. Proactive strategies for success also include proper health management and implementation intentions. A combination of all components will contribute to a well-balanced life a sound mind and advanced academic achievement.

When we fully understand information, we are better able to remember information.
