Scott Dolezal once said,“We don’t know how strong we are until being strong is the only choice we have.” Breast cancer is cancer that develops from the breast tissues. It can happen to anyone, however it is most common in women in their 50’s. Because of the effects or aggressiveness shown in women with breast cancer and there is no proven prevention as to cure breast cancer, breast cancer, or cancer in general is one of the greatest threats known to mankind.

The extent of breast cancer has been around for centuries, since 3000 BC. It is most common in women all around the world. According to The Washington Post, “One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.”-("Breast cancers predicted to rise by 50 percent by 2030") Many women all around the world risk developing breast cancer at least once in their lifetime. Reported by the American Cancer Society, studies have shown that “the death rate from cancer in the United States is continuing the decline that began in the early 1990s.” ("Annual Report to the Nation: Cancer Death Rates Still Dropping") Breast cancer has been around for many centuries and due to the great technology and medical care we, as Americans have today, the death rate of breast cancer in the United States will continue to decline and will hopefully become extinct. In conclusion, many women will develop breast cancer and it has become one of the top priorities of many countries worldwide (to find a cure).

The effects of breast cancer are death, changes to the body, coping emotionally, and changes to a woman’s ability to get pregnant. In “I don’t have time for this: diagnosed with breast cancer when you least expect it,” Claudia, 25 and diagnosed with breast cancer, states, “Cause I have to do three years of tamoxifen and that’ll put me into a menopausal state so I won’t have periods, and obviously I can’t have children.” ("I Don't Have Time For This: Diagnosed With Breast Cancer When You Least Expect It") Based on this...
