1. What are the ethical and legal issues of the case?

The ethical and legal issues of this case Honesty, Conflict of Interest, Intellectual Property Rights and Fraud.

The fact that Bob was using and copying A&A software to do his consulting work for his clients outside of the company, this is actually be classified as stealing . He is using company property for personal work. Employees are expected to follow rules and regulations set by an organization. Software used for company gains in an organization should not be used for personal gains, which should\would have been stated in his contract upon his employment to the company. This creates a conflict of interest between Bob and his organization and can also be perceived as fraud. The Organization can terminate his contract immediately and even go as far as taking legal action against Bob in the Court of Law, if they were to find out he was using the software to do auditing and consultant work for his clients that he has on the side. Fraud is considered a crime, so if Bob is convicted this can result in fines, imprisonment or possibly both.

If I was Carla I would try to arrange a meeting with whomever Bob reports to instantly, so the situation can be addressed. I have a reputation to uphold and at the end of the day my job may just be on the line, if this unethical behaviour by Bob is left unsaid. Once...
