Climate change and global warming due to carbon emissions is a current issue of debate with pollutants in our atmosphere increasing and the impact on our environment considered detrimental in the foreseeable future. Organisations such as Beyond Zero Emissions Inc. (BZE) have a vision for Australia as a zero carbon emissions economy within the next decade. (Beyond Zero Emissions 2006)The foundation of BZE’s philosophy is based on maintaining the standard of living for populations by finding alternative sources with 100% renewable energy. As a not-for-profit organisation in partnership with the University of Melbourne’s Energy Institute and based on its claim that it is in line with the latest scientific research, BZE’s focus on educating and informing is effective at shifting public opinion and increasing governmental support of its campaign.
