1. What is your possible topic? Brainstorm five questions about it.

The topic that I will be choosing for my essay has to do with the Keystone XL Pipeline and how some people do not know the many dangers and negatives it could bring if built. Most of us have heard all the good things about the keystone XL pipeline yet there is still delay when it comes to it being built, why? My essay will explain and inform readers about how voting for the pipeline is a really big mistake. There are numerous questions that I have brainstormed and they are listed below:

Where will the pipeline pass through and is there a chance of a leak? If the pipeline does spill, who will be affected by it? How many jobs will the construction of the pipeline bring? Why is there so much controversy about the pipeline being built? Will the gas prices decrease or stay the same if this oil pipeline is to go through? Is the economy going to benefit from this? Where is the oil being transported from? If we don’t build the pipeline, what will happen to all the oil? Who wants to build the Keystone XL Pipeline? Who opposes it?

2. How is the topic important to you and how does it affect you? What do you personally hope to gain or accomplish by writing about this topic?

This topic is really important not just to me but to all of the citizens of the United States due to the fact that it will affect all of us. The creation of the Keystone XL Pipeline will have an effect on the economy, our health, and on the environment. This topic is especially concerning to the people whose houses will be right next the pipeline, just imagine the damage that it will cause to their property. Very little people know about this topic and the majority of who do know, have only heard the good and not the bad.
