Program for the Needs of Crime Victims

Victimization entails the activities encompassing involvement of a personality in crime. Moreover, it addresses the predisposition factors to criminal activities. The criminology department identifies, detects and provides justice to the victims. There are various types of crimes committed in the country. However, there are fewer programs devised to meet the needs of the various crime victims in the United States. This paper reviews the crime data collected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to identify the various types of crimes committed. Moreover, there will be an evaluation of the influences of offenders to the commission of the crimes. The program is designed specifically for the rape cases but can encompass other criminal offenses.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the main body charged with identification, investigation, and arrests of criminals and suspects in the United States of America. The data in the department gets organized by Uniform Crime Reporting section that keeps all the records of crime data. Besides, the department notes all the offenses realized in by the law enforcers in the United States of America. The advantage of the source is the availability of a highly organized data, which includes additional information. Such type of information includes the time of the day, frequency and the locations of the criminal activities. Besides, the collected data involves the current trends in crime volume and the rates of criminal activities. According to the data, there were 79, 770 cases involving rape according to the legacy definition (Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2013).
