Conflicts go on every day in the world some small and some large and they are from various sources. Conflicts usually arise from one of the following goals, personalities, resources, styles, and values. Everyone knows for over the last 10 years or so we have been in a conflict with the Middle East because of just about every one of the different reasons I mentioned. I believe we all can ironically agree that every one of those reasons is the truth. We all have personal conflict with individuals from time to time as well as those professional conflicts that sometimes never really get resolved or resolved the way we would like them to. Conflict has been going on for centuries and as long as planet Earth still exists conflicts will still be going on.

In my work center of construction management the boss for the section literally doesn’t do anything but, sign a few papers that the five people under her could sign and do crossword puzzles. The entire engineering section as a whole knows this and is similar to the pink elephant in the corner that no one talks about, but in this case it’s just a known fact at this point and it’s just the way it is. It’s also a known fact that she despises her boss and always has, it wasn’t until about a year ago when he became her immediate boss. Since becoming her immediate boss he has really tried to hold her accountable for the duties she is responsible for. Anytime I need something signed I get an ear full about him and anything else she has a problem with, and here lies a problem in itself in that she should not be telling her grievances to me which is unethical. Her talking bad about the section chief to me or anyone that will listen or in this case has no choice but to listen is unbecoming of a supervisor and with any other job would be fired for that. She feels like she still holds power over some of us and in-turn we get stuck listening to every gripe and complaint she has with her boss. The problem is it’s not just as simple...
