People who have issues with alcohol and drugs on a daily basis are dealing with daily struggles. Individuals who drink alcohol and do drugs do so to get over their situations they are going through or personal issues they are dealing with like low self- esteem, peer pressure, and or it is inherited from family members and some indulge in drugs just merely because they want to do it. Individuals who are going through addictions can get help whenever they feel like they have had enough or have hit their rock bottom. By keeping in mind that no one is perfect, and knowing that help is very accessible are steps that can help an addict get clean as long as you take responsibility and admit that there is a problem before it’s too late. Often people have families that are holding on to the hope that one day they will stop what they are doing and know that they need them in their lives whether they know it or not. In this paper, the writer will identify the assessment that was used, decide if the assessment was useful, list what additional questions might need to be asked to accommodate particular special populations.

The Assessment Used

The assessment that I used is AUDIT (Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test). I found this assessment useful because it has shown me where the person I interviewed stands as I asked him questions about his addiction to drugs and alcohol. It's believed that when the questions have been asked, you can find out a lot about a person and how they feel about what they were doing in their addiction. After the person had got done with this questionnaire he thought a lot about the things he had said and had done in his addiction and what drove him to believe that he needed help. Here is Questionnaire:

1. How often do you have a drink containing alcohol?

(0) Never (Skip to Questions 9-10)

(1) Monthly or less

(2) 2 to 4 times a month

(3) 2 to...
