Dear Mr Chu,

Working Holiday Scheme

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the working holiday scheme to New Zealand.

First, the working visa allows you to leave and return to the host country multiple times. The validness of the visa is not affected by the times you spend out of that country. The difference between working holiday visa and ordinary visit visa is that ordinary visit visa is not allowed you to work in the country. However, you can use working holiday visa to work for up to three months.

Second, it does not matter if your English is not well because the scheme is no language requirement. There is a financial proof which amounts to NZD 4,200 available for you when staying in New Zealand. For the question about government subsidies, I advise you not to apply for them since it is hard to do it.

I heard that you are interested in finding a job in New Zealand. You can work in Southland because the job only requires you to operate simple engineered equipment.

There is an annual quota, which is 400 for participants and the applications will be approved on a first-come first-served basis. The first 50 applicants do not need to pay administrative fee. Otherwise, you need to pay HKD 250. So, you need to submit the application form as soon as possible. For further information, you can visit the website http://whs.esdlife.com/

Hope I can fully answer your questions. If you still have any problems, please feel free to ask. Wish you have a nice trip in New Zealand.

Yours sincerely,

Steve Petersons
