Study Objectives
This study was conducted as an non-probability survey to have a approximation of peoples perspectives on compensation in Canadian companies with the following objectives:
* To develop an understanding of typical compensation and benefit packages for various sized companies; small, medium, large.
* To demonstrate an understanding of how companies design compensation plans.
* To develop an understanding of the various constraints companies, endure when developing a compensation plan.
Section B: Methodology
Research Design
An online survey was conducted and selective sampling was employed. Two categories of people were surveyed.
1. People working in HR roles
A group of people studying together in an online group for the CHRP exam was contacted and requested to fill an online survey. Out of 12 people in the group 10 responded.
2. People working in non- HR roles
Methods
A The questionnaire was constructed based on the objectives stated in the assignment. The scale had both qualitative and quantitative questions
Basic averages, cross tabulations, pie charts and stacked bar charts were used for the purpose of the analysis.
Limitations
The study has a lot of statistical inconsistencies as it was conducted only to gauge into the perspectives on compensation of employees.
