Abstract

Many companies today are facing the confusing decisions in regards to what social media site they would like their company to be associated with. In my presentation I am going to be discussing a few of which I think is the best for this company. I will be discussing the positive and negative aspects of social media in regards to businesses using them. We must first remember that when considering any type of online marketing plans or policies, our website must take priority. We must always think of our website as the main focal point that we will be using to reach out to numerous external destinations. Also we must always look at social media as a tool to get our message out to the public and to bring business back to what we have total control over. Right now, there are more than 100 social sites on the web, and it is imperative that we take the time to select the right ones that are going to benefit our business to the utmost.

Although Facebook is somewhat new on the scene as far as social media is concerned, it has managed to come a long way since 2004, when it was first introduced for college students. Now they are saying that it has an average of over 1.55 billion active users, and is ranked as the most widely used social media site in the world according to the number of people who are actively using it each month. Starting a Facebook page is relatively simple. Once we create our page, users like it (they opt in to get our posts) and all our daily information regarding our company will be posted to their wall.
