An ethical dilemma is a situation wherein moral precepts or ethical obligations conflict in such a way that any possible resolution to the dilemma is morally intolerable. In other words, an ethical dilemma is any situation in which guiding moral principles cannot determine which course of action is right or wrong. Many businesses are developing an ethics policy to clearly state what employees and customers should expect. This is not only defines for the employees what they should consider to be inappropriate actions, but also sends a clear message about whom and what is important to the company. (Young, 2011)

In most business there are many ethical dilemmas and some examples are taking things that do not belong to you and violating rules to name a few. Taking things that do not belong to you is considered to be everything from taking highlighters from the storage room, to sending personal mail through the mailroom, to downloading unauthorized games to play on your work computer fall into this category. Violating rules in some cases, people or organizations violate rules to expedite a process or decision. In many of these cases, the results would have been the same regardless, but by violating the rules or required procedures for that outcome, they can potentially scar the reputation of the organization they work for. (Bascom, 2009)

At work we have a lot of agents that do not bring or brought their food and still eat other people’s lunches. We had an agent that would always go into the fridge in the morning to take the lunches and when the person was looking for their lunch it was already gone. This was going on for months until finally they caught the agent and had to let them go as they were warned. It is hard to lose your job because of something as small as taking some else’s lunch. We also have an agent that is always on Hotmail for their 8 hour shift. We have talked to the agent however they are still on Hotmail during their shift. The only other option...
