“Fed Up” is a documentary depicting the rising epidemic of obesity among both adults and children, however, the documentary focuses more on the rise of obesity in children due to the fact that there is a continuing rise in obesity among children since the 80s. Throughout this documentary they go between showing facts about how and who is at fault for this rise in childhood obesity as well as following the struggle between 4 children who are overweight and despite some efforts of doing physical activity and occasionally eating right, or what they believe to be healthier food choices, are still overweight or have lost weight but gain it right back.  Some facts that they present are that exercising while still eating these processed foods, sodas or other junk foods like from fast food chains will  not help you loose weight but in fact either keep you at your same weight or continue to gain weight. This is because the amount of exercise that you must do to loose those calories is far more than the average person is able to accomplish in a day with our busy lifestyles. Since there is so much of this bad food surrounding our kids at such young ages, whether it be at the store, on TV, or at their schools it is hard for any child who is already accustomed to eating these foods to break away from. So this is why this documentary sets out to open our eyes to how harmful all these processed foods, sodas and other junk foods like those from fast food chains are to our body and hopes to eliminate the use of marketing towards children on television or by banning these types of foods from our school districts. By eliminating this types of ads or foods available to our children it will help open up better eating habits with each new generation to come.
