The company known as Crete LLC should have a huge benefit from using Windows Server 2012 to manage the company’s network effectively and as secure as possible. The 2012 version of windows server provides multiple key updates to the security and the functionality when compared to the older version of Windows that are now considered to be obsolete in comparison. In this proposal, the topics relating Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, File Services, Remote Services, and Windows Server Update Services will be highlighted because of the additional benefits that these features bring to the table that would make the Crete LLC Company’s infrastructure run as efficiently and effectively as possible while keeping it secure as well.   

Active Directory   

The Crete LLC Company has sites across a large location and because of this, a regional based domain model should be considered in order to accommodate the branches. The Domains will need to be divided to the point where it only encompasses where the users are working. For example, Crete LLC currently has three different locations which are Los Angeles, Dallas, and Houston which means that there will need to be three different domains in different locations to represent each city. Using this strategy would ensure the network can be maintained by the established regional administrators who will only manage the users in their assigned area of the network. However, this method could be difficult because of having to determine what the forest root domain would be. Since, the main bulk of the staff for the company is mostly concentrated in Dallas and Houston, it makes it difficult to make one of these sites the forest root domain so, in order to make this decision neutral, a dedicated forest root domain can be suggested and this domain will be created only to act as the established forest root and will not contain any users except for service administrator...
