Average pay for data processors per survey conducted by Decision Sciences was $ 27500 p.a.and CCUA was paying around $ 24960 and that of computer analyst was $ 31500. The weighted average salary of Jr. Analyst and Programmer (position that matched the role of computer analyst) was found to be $ 35000 plus. There were anamolies in the structure of CCUA and mismatches of salary when compared to the market.This was bound to create dissatisfaction and attrition in the workforce and that is what happened. The HRD was unfortunately not connected with their business environment nor were they connected internally with their workforce within and thus the grave attrition rates took them unaware.

Net survey and figures from Labor Department (from US News) indicate that the median computer analyst and programmer's salary is around $ 80000 - starting from around $ 50000. The net also shows a satisfied workforce comprising mainly of females as data processors with a salary of around $ 29000.

Surveys apart from the one conducted are recommended to minimize errors that are inherent when conducting surveys as information sought can never be complete but can still be valid and reliable should the surveys be conducted scientifically. Outsourcing is not a long term solution where one would need to cutivate an inhouse workforce that is dedicated to their roles and the company professionally. Outsourcing can be a short term solution for any extra loads that are there for short periods. Outsourcing may not bring about a material reduction in the cost to the company as such jobs...
