Culture Identity
So when I started this assignment, I thought about the culture I am a part of. The things that I do, places I go, and things I see. Everything we do is part of a culture. So I went on the internet to see if those things give me a cultural identity. I found a website that is a quiz you pick the answers that best describe you and at the end of the quiz you get a result. My result in the quiz fits me the best. It is exactly how I’d describe myself to a friend or things I would use when first meeting someone outside of work to see if we have things in common. My result was 83% Dork. That is right my cultural identity is a dork. The quiz defends dork as a person that loves manga, superheroes, science fiction, fantasy, video games, and other things that you spend most of your time discussing on the internet. At least your obsessions shield you from awareness of how lame other people think you are. If you are lucky, you are also a nerd. Yay! (What's Your Cultural Identity)
A dork is also considered a nerd or geek. The terms are interchangeable. I do spend much time reading manga’s and watching anime. I spend an enormous amount of time on the Internet playing online games with people that I have not met in the real life. I would meet them if we ever made plans to get to gather. I’ve been gaming with the same group for ten years now. They know me better than some of my real life friends. I read lots of science fiction, fantasy, and romance novels as an escape from my real life. The books keep smiles on my face a lot longer than most other things. I also watch too much TV. Most of the time, I cannot watch everything that records because of work and school.
