After reading through the case, my recommendation would be to first identify what exactly they are trying to achieve by establishing a new program in their school. Perhaps setting more of a defined goal that will help them know what they plan to achieve through creating this new program. Addressing any problems or issues firsthand that may affect already existing programs will be important as well as ensuring that an MBA program is in fact the best fit for the school. The mission and the vision of the school is an important piece as they need to know that this program will benefit the students who choose to pursue the degree and that they will in turn be of value to companies they will choose to work for in the future.

I think an MBA program would be a good place for them to start and put a future plan in place to add more Master’s degree programs in the future. I think they will find more success in finding students interesting in obtaining an MBA VS other fields of study such as healthcare, education, etc. I say this because while they do not offer undergraduate degrees in business, they already offer business courses, so they may already have a student base already attending the college who would be interested in pursuing an MBA.

Before the MBA in pursued, my first recommendation would be establishing an undergraduate degree in business. It only makes sense to offer the undergrad degree first before establishing an MBA program. More business courses/instructors will have to be created anyway, so it shouldn’t be too much more effort and work to get this program up and running as well.

As mentioned before, focusing and building up their business program first in my opinion will help them build a strong reputable program in business, which in turn will help them to gain more programs in the future once they have proven successful in...
