Topic: American Criminal Justice: Core Components
Hello everyone,
I am going to go in order from when someone brakes a law to serving their sentence. First is going to be the police. Some of the core components of the police are enforcing the law, investigating the crime, apprehending the offenders, to protecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals. Next up is the criminal courts. Some of the core components of the criminal courts are conducting a fair and impartial trials, decide criminal cases, and ensure due process. Then the last one is the correctional agencies. Some of the core components of the correctional agencies are carrying out sentences imposed by the courts, provide safe and humane custody and supervision of offenders, protecting the community, and respecting the legal and human rights of the convicted. One of the three components that is potentially the most harmful to the criminal justice system is the police. The reason I say this is because the police is what everyone see when it comes to the criminal justice system and they have a lot of different things they have to do in order for the person to go to the courts. If one of the things isn’t handled right the case can be thrown out and that person can be released without anything happening.
