Along with the development of agricultural industry, wood chip dryer is in short supply. To improve the working efficiency and lower the labor strength, we make the wood shavings dryer in large scale and most of them adopts the motor clamping device. Driving modes have many ways like pneumatic, liquid-operated, pneumatic hydraulic, solenoid drive and vacuum absorbing, etc.

Air clamper, with compression air as driving source, is used to drive the clamping mechanism. Pressure in gas cylinder is at about 0.4MPa to 0.6MPa. The frequently-used air cylinder has two kinds: piston and diaphragm type servomotor. Compared with the piston cylinder, diaphragm-type servomotor enjoys the features of good sealing, simple structure and long service life.

While, it has shortcomings like short working process and changing clamp force. Structure and working principle of hydraulic clamping service are basically similar like the pneumatic clamping device. Differently, it uses the pressure oil as working medium and its working pressure can reach to 5MPa to 6.5MPa.

Compared with the pneumatic clamping device, hydraulic clamping device has following advantages. One is the large driving force and relatively small clamping structure. The second is reliable clamping and smooth work. The third is weak noise. As to the shortcomings of hydraulic clamping device, it needs to be equipped with specialized hydraulic-pressure system and its application range is limited.
