1. What was the background information that led Morgan Spurlock to conduct his study?

The background information that led Morgan Spurlock to conduct his study was that at the time America was had the highest obiesity rate in the world.

2. What was his research question?

What would happen if I ate McDonald’s for 30 days straight?

3. Did he have a hypothesis? What was the hypothesis?

Would he become an obese American and would it be unreasonably healthy.

4. Describe how he conducted his study? Did he have a control condition?

He conducted his study eating nothing but McDonald’s food for 30 days to see what would happen. His control condition was his weight before he started the experiment.

5. Identify the independent variable, dependent variable, and controlled variables.

Independent variable: Spurlock eating McDonald’s

Dependent variable: His weight

Controlled variable: Food

6. What guidelines did Mr. Spurlock try to follow in order to regulate his “controlled variables?

* Only Super Size when asked

* Only eat McDonalds products

* Try everything on the menu

* Must have 3 meals a day

7. What were the results of his study?

He gained nearly 30 pounds, his liver turned to fat, his cholesterol raised 65 points, and had a 15% body fat increase.
