Question 1. Using an example, explain the difference between leadership and management

In my understanding, a leadership is as making people to feel like a boss and a person who works under are equal. We are walking together as teamwork with passion to achieve an organisation’s goals which can effect on individual human-needs in somehow; a bonus, a promotion or a being recognised by work. Also, a leadership is about knowing how to do a right thing and recognise what is right, while a management is about how to do a thing right. It can be said that a leadership will be ready to take a risk, not be afraid to seeking or thinking out of a frame to achieve a goal. On the other hand, a manager is about being right, controlling workers to get in a structure to done a job.

Moreover, it seems that leaders tend to use their charismas in some way to make followers. Leaders will motivate and enhance employees to do their roles which can establish respectful climate in work, instead of being afraid. As a result, a leader will find easily to gather people; in term of ‘team spirit’, to achieve goals. On the other side, managers tend to use their powers in organisation to reach goals. They control people workers by pushing them in a right position and restriction.

Here are examples of being a leader and a manager.

A small branch of Starsucks Coffee shop had just got a monthly bad score of checking quality of service system. As a result, all of employees lost the monthly bonus. A manager of the store gave a big complain and tried to find out who had been working on that day. The manager blamed those peoples and told them that ‘This is a disaster. We lost a bonus because of you guys!!’. Afterward, the manager always acted as bossy, pointed workers to do this and do that, while the manager did not do anything.
