All the government law enforcement agencies work within different jurisdiction but the purpose of all the agencies is same which is protecting citizen and help citizens as well as serve them with integrity and able to provide security and confidence to live in county, state or even in United States. Every agencies work within jurisdiction which passed by the legislator, which can be local, state, or federal level of government. Depending on where the crime happens or what kind of crime took place will determine which agency may take an interest.

The heart of the law enforcement is our local police law enforcement agency, they are the main people who look for criminal activity 24 hours a day and never get off duty. Because of them we all citizen are protected because we know that someone is out there protecting us from criminal and terrorism activities. Police law enforcement is the main which we follow everyday of our life for example (while driving). The main different between local police law enforcement and those at the state or federal level is they are the front for all the criminal activities, most of the time it enforce by the chief who appoint by mayor or some time elected by vote. Who continues job is to hire good officer who can follow the law and help citizen in order to keep their county or even state out of trouble and passed the law at all level within jurisdiction.

State police also perform local police duties, which include most of highway patrol and state investigation. State police assist local police with investigation and emergencies that extend beyond the recourses and jurisdiction of the local agency.
