First-line supervisor (Concept) - (1) As a first-line supervisor, one is responsible for assigning tasks and ensuring that their assigned subordinates follow the standards and complete the job accurately, safely, and on time based on company and state/federal rules and regulations. (2) As a first-line supervisor it is the individuals’ responsibility to ensure that the right people are assigned to the job and that they are trained to properly handle any situation that might arise on a day to day basis. 2. Employee morale (Construct) – (1) The morale of an employee can be viewed through the motivation or excitement on coming to work on time and prepared for work (Martin, 2013). (2) The employee morale can also be viewed based on the quality of work performed by an individual and whether they go above and beyond the expectations set by their front-line supervisor.
