There are many problems that people living in poverty face such as, inadequate housing, poor nutrition, and poor education. To rid America of poverty seems far too impossible to leave it up to one person. There are far too many poor people. The solution to poverty lies with everyone including the government, the media, and the citizens. It doesn’t need to involve politics. If everyone comes together, poverty will be eliminated overtime. The government needs to help build things back up and get rid of the unnecessary spending. Citizens should work more and save better to stay out of dept. If America wants to get out of poverty, then it’s up to America to fight it. It’s important for everyone to work together.

For reasons that are only partly understood, the United States has higher rates of poverty than most other developed countries. (Encarta) The government needs to stop spending money on other countries and start spending it on helping America first. Poor management of resource revenues can mean that rather than lifting countries out of poverty, revenues from such activities as oil production or gold mining. (Wikipedia)

For example one of the big issues that we face is the illegal immigrants, which will make us over populated and there may be fewer jobs for the people of America that need to

work. When illegal immigrants come here it adds more poor people. First-generation immigrants and their families, who are one-sixth of the U.S. population, comprise one-fourth of all poor persons in the U.S. (Rector)

In addition according to the Census report, 12.6 percent of Amer¬icans were poor in 2005 (Rector). That is far too many people. Two years ago, the Census Bureau released its annual report on poverty in the United States declaring that there were 37 million poor persons living in this country in 2006.
